Spring Break Buzz

Well, got some news today that my cousin Scott and his wife Heather had their 3rd child, Virgil, today! Congrats! If only I would have had one more day of spring break I could have met him!

So now it's time to talk about spring break happenings! What a week!

Wednesday I headed to Kearney. Met up with Ashley and got Cassie's birthday gifts all ready to go. We got her a collosal cookie from Eileen's and a book from Target. I think she was pleased. After a delicious grilled supper, the Catch Phrase began. Girls vs. Guys. We were so unlucky. As soon as one of the guys would pass the game to us, it would buzz. We ended up 2-2 so there is yet a tie breaker game to be played...someday. It was a pretty intense game. Then we had a night out on the town. A bunch of us went to one of my favorite bars, The Elephant's Eye, and played cards for awhile. We then headed to Cunninghams and had some more laughs. I beat everyone in darts (like usual). Then the real fun began.

Disclaimer!!If you are a reader who doesn't like to read about mischief I advise you to quit reading now.

So I met Eric's friend Mike on Wednesday night. After we left the bars and played a few rounds of Catch Phrase at Scottie's (and after I fell off a cooler that I was sitting on) we thought it would be a great idea to go "deer hunting." I guess the St. Paul definition of deer hunting is this:
1. Hop in a truck.
2. Go down a road encompased by deer.
3. Scare the crap out of them by nearly hitting them.

Me, Cassie, Eric, and Mike were all packed in his front-row-only truck trying to hit some deer. I don't think I've laughed that hard in a looooong time. I don't know what was funnier, listening to the guys scream "DEER" or listening to Eric give Mike directions on how to hunt properly. It was such a rush and so fun. Probably the most fun I've ever had in Kearney. It was the perfect end to a perfect night. (You know you're from Nebraska when...OR...you might be a redneck) Bedtime followed hunting at 4 a.m.

That was Wednesday.

Thursday was more of a day to relax. Cass and I went to Grand Island to do some shopping for her mom at Sams. Then we headed back to Kearney for a night of Jane Austen. I was excited to watch these movies because Cass and Ashley just love them. Well, I stayed awake for the first one, but then when watching the second one, I felt like I was watching the first one again. But, they weren't the worst movies I've ever seen, so it was fine.

Friday I headed back home, finally! Played a LOT of Wii with my family and relaxed to the max. It was great.

Saturday was round 2 of Cassie's birthday. About 8 we all met at Fairview Lanes. Drank a few buckets, bowled a few frames, and had more than a few laughs. It was fun to have the whole gang (almost) together again. There were 7 of us playing Photo Hunt at one time. Kinda crazy. Brock and Derek were really good at the Hunks edition for some reason....

So the weekend was full of family, friends, and fun. Just made me realize that I have been so blessed in my life. I absolutely adore my friends. I can't put to words what they mean to me! They are just the best. My family is kinda quirky, but man, I love them.

Quite the lengthy blog for one day, but I had a lot to say! Hope anyone who had a break last week got to enjoy it as much as I did.

oh what fun

Well, those of you that have been reading know that I'm going to Kearney today to celebrate my bff's birthday. She's 22 today, so Happy Birthday Cassie! I'm very excited to see my Kearney peeps. Then we're making supper and probably going out for a few drinks.

I finally got some sleep last night. After making a quick trip to WalMart to buy some supper, I sat down at 7 to watch "The Biggest Loser." I quickly fell asleep and woke up as they were voting off Brittany. Dang, it was makeover night too! So I slept for almost 2 hours and then went to bed at 10 and got up this morning at 6:45. So I think it's safe to say that I'm catching up. Still yawning, but what can you do?

Don't know if I mentioned that I had an interview on Monday at the Department of Health and Human Services System. I'm going to begin volunteering in a few weeks to get some experience in this field. I think it's what I want to do when I graduate, and since that's coming up soon, I thought I better get a move on. I think it will be a good way to not only gain experience, but to make sure it's what I want to do.

I'm also excited to spend some time at home this weekend. It's Easter weekend, and the tradition is to go to church with Grandma B. However, the night before is round 2 of Cassie's birthday celebration. We're going to meet at the bowling alley and tear it up. It will be pretty fun since everyone (all of my friends from high school) will be there as well. I'm also pretty excited to show off my 122 average from league this past semester. Or maybe I'll just take the next step and bowl my high game of 196 again. Who knows, we'll see how I'm feeling. I won't have my ball, so I can't make any promises.
