Graduation!

I finally did it! Only took me 4.5 years! No more homework, tests, or papers! I edited this picture on my favorite website, picnik.com.Graduation was really fun. Cassie, mom, and dad came down Friday night and helped me get Belmont all decorated and ready to go for the reception on Saturday. I woke up Saturday morning with an uneasy stomach (which was no surprise because I always get nervous for important things...) however, the feeling soon subsided. We picked up Amy and then headed to the Devaney center for line-up. Here's a pic of me and Amy in our caps and gowns. We looked so grown up!I managed to make some new friends and have some very interesting conversations with Tezac, Tracy Stalls, Michaela, and Miss Stiles. It was quite entertaining. I had to convince Jeff that my last name was really Sup. He just said, "Yeah right. What's it short for?" I had to laugh. Finally, he was convinced. After lining up we walked into the gym and took our seats. As soon as we sat, Tezac and I got separated from our other gals so we had to find something else to do. He brought his ipod so he let me play some pong while we waited to get our diplomas. It was fun. I did listen to Mike Johanns speak, however. He did a really nice job and gave a nice message. He said that finding the right job was a matter of the heart. You'll know when you're at the right job because it will feel right in your heart. You'll just know. If you're not happy, find something else to do. I totally agree.

After the ceremony, Amy and I walked all over Devaney to find my parents. It probably would have been a good idea to make a plan to meet them before they dropped us off, but we didn't. We ended up finding them after the crowd died down a little. After a few pictures we headed to Belmont for the party. It was such a good turnout despite the weather. This pic is me and my momma, Sally. I love it.I was glad so many people could make it. After the delicious cake and food we headed back to my apartment just to chill for awhile. I didn't end up going out that night because the weather was just nasty and cold. Becky, Jared, Derek, Cassie, and I just stayed at my place and we played some games and had a few drinks. Pretty low key, but I had a nice relaxing time.

Rain, Sleet, Snow, Ice, Thunder, Lightning...at the same time?!

It's that time of year....crappy Nebraska weather.
I feel like whenever I have something important 1 or 2 things always happen to me (sometimes, they happen at the same time).
1. I get sick. Check that one off because I've been sick since last Friday.
2. The weather doesn't cooperate. Check that one off too! It's crazy weather. Lincoln is in a winter storm warning right now. To our south is a freezing rain advisory. To our southeast is a ice storm warning. To our west is a winter weather advisory. Are you kidding me? It just sucks.
I graduate from UNL on Saturday and I've invited many people to my party. I just feel as though I'm getting screwed over! I hope people can still make it. The roads are pretty shitty right now. However, the party isn't until Saturday and tomorrow is forecasted to remain calm. No warnings, advisories, or anything. Just overcast and cold. So I'm praying things will turn out right for me this one time!! Come on!
I had my last final ever today at 3:30 and I got every single question correct. I couldn't believe it. What a way to end my school career at UNL. It felt so good. Now I'm just waiting for my final grades in all of my classes! I'll be walkin' across that stage on Saturday and it seems surreal. I don't feel like I'm really done. It's weird. I can't believe it's been 4.5 years since I moved into Smith 212! Seems like just yesterday! But, I guess I'm going to have to be ready for some changes because they're coming if I'm ready or not! The job search begins in January. Wish me luck!

Tonight I plan on staying home and having a me night. The Huskers play Penn State (ranked #1) tonight at the Qwest. Penn State hasn't lost a single set all season. It will be a tough game for the ladies but I am holding out for the upset. Go 'Skers! I also rented Wall-E and Made of Honor. I don't think I'll be able to stay awake through a movie because I'm pretty beat. I did 3 loads of laundry and cleaned our apartment today. I'm so tired! I feel like all I've been doing is sleeping because I'm trying to take extra good care of myself since I'm sick! I guess it's never enough sleep, however.

Tomorrow is the senior breakfast for Campus Rec senior employees. I've been patiently waiting for it to be my turn! Hopefully I can get all the ice off my car in the morning to make it! I am prepared with my de-icing spray and scraper! It's so nice having a vehicle with 4-wheel drive.
Mom, Dad, and Cassie are coming to Lincoln tomorrow night, so I hope the weather permits them safe travel.
It feels like it's time for me to take some more medication, so I'm going to do that! Safe travels to all!

The Final Countdown

So, the countdown has begun. I'm 11 days (1o not counting tonight) away from being a UNL grad! Can you believe it? I have 2 finals and one short paper left to do and I'm done forever! Yippee. I'm actually in class right now listening to some group presentations. We presented about an hour ago and I think we did pretty well. Enough about school, time for the weekend update!

Friday I headed to Omaha to meet Ashley and Danielle for supper. We decided to go to the Cheesecake Factory. Oh man, supper was delicious. I had to order my favorite drink of all time, a peach bellini. They are sooooo good. I highly recommend them. Peaches, peach schnapps, and champagne. Grisanti's also has delicious peach bellinis as well. Seriously, try one (but not if you don't like peaches). Then we all had to order a piece of cheesecake. They had a holiday one that was original cheesecake swirled with peppermint. If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE mint flavored things, so I was sold. Honestly, it was the best cheesecake I've ever had. Amazing. So dang good. Mmm....I can just taste it now. After a short dinner I went to my sister's house. We decided it would be fun to drive around the neighborhood and look at lights. We took a thermos of hot cocoa with us and drove around for an hour! Two of the houses we drove past had the Christmas fever and decorated to the max. They even had light shows coordinated to music! I loved it. By the way, song to check out....."Carol of the Bells" by William Joseph. He's an incredible pianist.

Saturday I headed to Clarinda to help Shannon put together her wedding invitations. They are super cool. Bonnie and Celinda also came down to help and we got them all assembled! Yay! I think Shannon was relieved to have them done. That night we went to an ugly Xmas sweater party. Oh man, it was so much fun! We played some drinking games and then ended the night with about 3 hours of catch phrase. We were being so loud...haha.

I headed back to Omaha on Sunday because I needed to find an outfit for graduation. I originally had a LBD (little black dress) from Target, but I tried it on again and did not like it at all. So, I took it back and ended up getting a pink top from Old Navy and I'm going to wear a cute black cardigan over that with some black pants. Plain and simple. I then had to go home because I once again worked Free Skate Night at the Ice Box. It went much better this time. I wasn't nearly as sore because they offered to sharpen our ice skates! What a difference. So, it was a very busy weekend, but a very fun one.

I know I had a quote about procrastination last time, but I found one that was so funny i about burst into laughter in class, so enjoy!

Procrastination

I am the biggest procrastinator. I have a 10 page paper due tomorrow and I have yet to begin writing. This means that I'll be up all night writing it! Yippee. I always do this, so I shouldn't be surprised. I graduate in 17 days. I can't wait. Seriously, the thought of never having to write another paper or take another test is just crazy! I'm going to be d-o-n-e! As in, never go to class again! Yay! So, all I've got left to complete in order to graduate is my 10 page paper, 3 shorter papers (which will be much easier to write since they're about easy topics), 2 final exams, and a group presentation. I would think it's safe to say that I'm smooth sailing. So, let's see, I actually have 4 days of actual class left. Awesome.

Okay, so now that we know I'm excited to graduate, let's change the subject.

Thanksgiving was this past weekend. I headed home Wednesday after a half day of work. Basically, all I did was eat. I know that's terrible, but I blame my mom. If she wasn't such a good cook I wouldn't have to eat anything! The best thing she made was pumpkin squares. They were seriously the best dessert I've ever had. It was like pumpkin pie filling on the bottom and then on the top was dry cake mix and it made it even sweeter. Oh man......delicious. Wish I could have a piece right now. I played a lot of Wii when I was home, too. Joel brought it over and I just couldn't put it down. Lots of tennis and Mario GoKart. Good times.

Watched the Nebraska Colorado game on Friday at Derek's with Bex and Cass. Terrible game, except for the last 5 minutes or so. A 57 yard field goal! Amazing. Then to top it off Suh ran a ball back for an interception. Quite the finish. Not only that, the Nebraska basketball boys beat Creighton! I don't think that happens a lot.

This Friday I'm heading to Omaha to see Ashley. I haven't seen her in awhile so we're going out for supper Friday night and possibly heading back to my sister's to sit in her hot tub. I love being out there when it's cold. Then, on Saturday, I'm heading to Clarinda to help Shannon with some wedding stuff. Saturday night we're going to an ugly Christmas sweater party, so that means I've got to go get an ugly sweater tomorrow! I've never gone to one of those parties, so I'm excited. Then, on Sunday I'm heading back to Omaha to do finish up my Christmas shopping. Sunday night we're having another free skate night at the IceBox and I'm working again. Busy Busy Busy!
